He has assisted numerous organizations in implementing GIS to help solve problems and improve operations. He holds multiple certifications, including as a certified GIS professional, Esri-certified enterprise system design associate, and Esri-certified desktop professional. He is also the former president of URISA and the local Georgia Chapter. In recognition of his contributions to the GIS community, he has received several awards, including the URISA Exemplary Leadership award and the Barbara Hirsch Special Service award.
