Before I Am is a selection of dialogues between Mooji, a warm-hearted spiritual master, and seekers of peace, truth and freedom. While Mooji's presence carries a devotional fragrance, the words and drawings that spring from his Being are of the nature of non-duality. It is Mooji's unsparing pointing to Truth, through the method of self-inquiry, which forms the essence of this book. At times humorous, at times tender, occasionally sharp and always loving, Mooji responds to questioners as they speak of fear, suffering, confusion, relationships, spiritual practice and how to live their lives in peace.
With unsparing honesty, palpable love and much humour Mooji guides questioners to investigate the nature of the self and to rest effortlessly as the fullness and emptiness of Beingness. His answers encourage, challenge and never fail to illuminate. Enriched with Mooji's exquisite brush drawings, the potency of this book will not leave you unchanged. It will take you to the very heart of your Self.

Über den Autor
Mooji is a true light in this world, whose presence, wisdom and loving guidance have the power to bring us out of suffering and delusion, revealing who we are beyond the limitations of our personal conditioning and identity. Seekers of Truth from all backgrounds and traditions are deeply touched by Mooji's indefinable presence and direct guidance and are inspired to find within themselves the deep peace, love and silence they recognise in him.
Born in Jamaica, Mooji (Anthony Paul Moo-Young) moved to London as a teenager. In 1987, an encounter with a Christian mystic inspired Mooji to 'walk out of his life', an expression he uses to convey the profundity of that meeting. In 1993, Mooji travelled to India where, seemingly by chance, he met his Master, Sri HWL Poonja, or 'Papaji', as he is affectionately known by his devotees. At Papaji's feet, whatever still remained of an active ego was finally uprooted.
Recognising Mooji's radiance, people from various parts of the world began to approach him simply to sit in his presence and ask questions regarding their search for Truth. Through grace, the capacity to guide each one arose spontaneously, and thus began the sharing of satsang worldwide.
Mooji's unity with Truth is potently shared through self-inquiry, the Invitation and the 'Just Be' sitting exercise-simple, practical and unsparing guidance for those seeking true and lasting Self-realisation. Each one who meets Mooji with a genuine urge for freedom is pulled by the immensity of his unconditional love and the power of his pointings into the recognition of the infinite Self we already are.
Mooji presently lives in Portugal and continues to share satsang with all who yearn to discover their true nature-timeless, unborn Awareness.
