The editors have worked at renowned pediatric surgical centers and have a track record in innovation, surgery, and research in the field. Many of the authors have taught extensively on practical courses and have published numerous peer review articles in leading journals. Many are recognized experts in the field and some are considered founding fathers of minimally invasive surgery in children. Merrill McHoney, MBBS, FRCS, PhD, studied at the University of West Indies and the University of London. He subsequently specialized in pediatric surgery, working at the Great Ormond Street Hospital for Sick Children and the Oxford Radcliffe Hospital, among others. He is currently a Consultant Pediatric Surgeon at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. Mr. McHoney has been the recipient of significant research awards and prizes. He has published in leading peer-reviewed journals and also contributed a number of chapters in edited books.

Edward M. Kiely is a consultant and surgeon at Great Ormond Street Hospital. He studied medicine at University College Cork and in 2011 was awarded an honorary fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
