Bulgaria, by contrast,under its wily monarch 'Foxy' King Ferdinand proved steadfast in its support for Germany and Austria, despite its traditional ethnic and religious links to Russia. This book is an account by Britain's military attaché in Bulgaria, Lt. Col. the Hon. H.D. Napier, of his efforts to coerce Bulgaria. It provides an interesting sidelight on the Great War and the Balkans in the early 20th century.
