Beschreibung
This second volume on the carriages of the 19th and 20th centuries deals with luxury carriages and the principal types and models. The 60 most common carriages with their different models and characteristic features are described in words and pictures, situated in their historical context and distinguished from other models and types.
This volume provides an unprecedented instrument for identifying carriages and situating them in the historical and cultural context. It also gives a lot of practical tips on dating, determining, restoring and conserving historical carriages. It is an inexhaustible source of information and inspiration for all friends and manufacturers of carriages and for museums, private collectors and restorers. The complete work gives drivers and prize judges who have an interest in traditional driving or have long devoted themselves to it all they need in order to compile or assess a stylish or true-to-style team. It gives information which has long been unavailable and bridges the gap between the "Golden Age of Carriages" and today's art and culture of carriage driving.
