Beschreibung
'Ever since that time I walk before God simply, in faith, with humility and with love; and I apply myself diligently to do nothing and think of nothing which may displease Him.' From the Second Letter.

Full of joy, faith and love, this unique collection of the conversations and letters of the seventeenth-century Carmelite friar, Brother Lawrence, records the simple wisdom of a man who felt God's constant companionship. Laying claim to no special gifts he endeavoured constantly to 'walk in His presence', whether he was working in his kitchen or worshipping in church.

Beautifully written and intensely personal, this exquisite little book has been cherished for generations as a rich source of inspiration and guidance for all who seek true and lasting spiritual fulfilment.

Über den Autor
Nicholas Herman of Lorraine, better known as Brother Lawrence, was born in 1611 and came from humble origins. First serving as a soldier, then as a footman, he entered the Carmelite Order in Paris as a lay brother at the age of 55, where he became a cook and immersed himself in the devotional life. For him there was no distinction between `the time of business¿ and `the time of prayer¿. He died in 1691 at 80 years of age, honoured by all who knew him.
