After jobs as a hair-washer and film extra, David's first book was shortlisted for the Mother Goose Award and since then he has created the 'Dirty Bertie' character and illustrated works by fantastic authors such as Julia Donaldson, Jacqueline Wilson, and Sally Gardner for the award-winning Tinder. David says, "I always wear stripy socks, never plain!"
